assignment #10: Let’s try to re-charge the newspaper’s readership. Come up with a list of at least 10 ideas for anything special we can add, change, etc. to increase readership. Post your ideas on the blog.
assignment #9: Story ideas for December– try to come up with at least 10 interesting, original ideas for the December issue.
assignment #8: pull up the assignment in the Word document below. Save it to your number so that while you use it, others can open it too. (You can delete it later.) Complete the assignment on a separate sheet of paper. Please DO NOT print the pictures. caption writing

assignment#5: writing captions/ cutlines– Use the following link to go a page on the University of Kansas website about writing photo captions and cutlines. Take notes on this page and place the notes in your journalism folder. We’ll be doing some work next class period with this info.

assignment#4: Headlines– Go to real on-line newspapers like the ajc.com. Look at the headlines for news, sports, and feature stories. Write down 3 headlines you find for each category. Is there any difference? Comment in a paragraph or two. Turn this assignment in to Mrs. Dial.

assignment#2: Go to the following website: http://www.notrain-nogain.org/Train/Res/CopyD/better.asp . Read the article “We can all write better headlines every day.” Then, click on the link on the right side of the page that says, “Some guidelines for writing headlines.” Take notes on the guidelines. Turn your notes in to your folder by the end of the class period.
