Assignment #7: Post your story ideas for the May issue directly on the blog. This is the last issue of the year and will focus on seniors. Think of some interesting things we can cover.
Assignment #6: Post your story ideas for the April issue directly on the blog. Find interesting things we can cover in the next issue (at least 10.)
Assignment #5: Post your story ideas for the March issue directly on the blog. Find interesting things we can cover in the next issue (at least 10.)
Assignment #4: Pull up the following Word document and save it to your number. Complete the assignment on captions and save it to the assignments folder on the N-Drive.
Assignment #3: Go to last semester’s assignment page (Fall semester Assigments). Scroll down to the comments and then scroll through the comments. Starting with comment #63, last semster’s students created lists of ideas for recharging/ re-energizing the newspaper. Read through the list and find the ideas that are the best. On a sheet of paper, write the idea(s) you think are good and give any suggestions for adding them to the newspaper this semster. Turn this in by the end of class (1/7-A or 1/8-B).
Assignment #2: Story ideas for February (Valentine’s Day) issue. Be creative. Come up with at least 10 ideas for stories that anyone could write for this issue. Try to come up with ideas that cover the entire population of SHS. Use the COMMENTS section on this page. Include your first name and last initial ONLY.
Assignment #1: Freedom of the Press issues– the First Amendment and student rights. How much do you know? Go to the Student Press Law Center website: https://www.splc.org/hspresslawtest/ . Click on the link to the short quiz “Press Freedom.” Take notes on the answers to any questions you were unsure of. We will be taking a quiz over these concepts on Thursday (A) or Friday (B).
