Week of August 17th

This week we’ll all be learning about the technical “stuff”:  Using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, formatting and saving stories and pictures, and style guidelines.  We’ll also be discussing how to write headlines and captions.

First week off class: 

• assignmment #1– apply for a job on newspaper staff. (See the Assignments Page.)
• We’ll be discuss the basics: how to write a news story, a lead, interviewing, quoting, etc.
• By the end of the week you’ll be assigned a job and a beat.
